As he waves goodbye to 2009, Carlo Ancelotti is confident Chelsea have
turned the corner when it comes to performances on the pitch.
Earlier in the week the manager stated that the players deserve much
credit for leading the league table at the halfway point in the season but
he acknowledges that recent displays have not been up to scratch.
'There is not an unbeatable team,' Ancelotti says. 'We had some problems
in December. We didn't win some important games because we drew against
Everton, against Birmingham, against West Ham, but it is normal to have
this moment because some teams had some bad moments before and we had this
period not so good.
'The important thing is we stay at the top of the list and this means that
we did better than the other teams in this six months. Arsenal and
Manchester United will be difficult opponents but until now Chelsea is the
first team in the Premier League and I think that we deserve to stay in
the top of the list.
'Manchester United and Arsenal are very close to us and it will be a very
competitive championship until the end of the season.'
Responding to recent comments by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger
highlighting that he knew Chelsea would drop points after our 3-0 win in
north London in November, Ancelotti says:
'He is a good magician if he said this after that game.'

蒂昨晚突然掀起了他加盟英超的首場口水戰，因為溫格最近一再聲稱切爾西會再失分
安帥毫不客氣地嘲諷道：溫格就是英超的哈利˙波特！
其實，溫格這樣說無非是想要給槍手青年軍一些信心，只不過安切洛蒂卻很困惑
為什麼溫格要反覆強調切爾西會在壓力之下崩潰，這名意大利主帥還提醒所有競爭對
手，其實他們已經喪失了反超切爾西的最佳時機，因為在近6場比賽僅僅取勝其中的2
場後，切爾西仍舊帶著積分榜首的位置踏進2010年。
溫格首次拋出切爾西未來仍會丟分是在11月底阿森納0-3不敵切爾西後，而本週
中的快車後，教授又再次談起這個話題，安切洛蒂終於按捺不住了。
“如果溫格在賽後這樣說了，他肯定是一個非常優秀的魔法師，我從來沒有說過
切爾西是不可戰勝的，足球界也不會有這樣的球隊，我們在12月是有些問題，我們沒
有贏下一些重要的比賽，但事實上，我們現在仍在英超榜首。”
“那意味著我們在過去6個月比任何球隊都幹得出色，切爾西排名榜首，我們配
得上這個位置，我們已經幹得非常不錯，就算我們在打平埃弗頓、西漢姆和伯明翰之
後丟了一些分數，但其他球隊同時也發生了一些意外，而我們也已經走出了我們的困
境，現在我認為切爾西的問題已經結束了。”
而且與弗格森認為冠軍只是紅魔藍軍之爭不同的是，安切洛蒂還認為阿森納和曼
城都還有機會，至於其他球隊，不想挑起更多是非的安帥則是不確定的態度。
“我不知道維拉、熱刺或者利物浦是否有機會，但我知道對陣他們都不會好踢。”
切爾西將會因為非洲盃失去德羅巴、卡盧、米克爾和仍然有傷在身的埃辛，但安
切洛蒂一點都不介意。
“球員們必須為他們的國家隊上場，那對我們不是問題，他們已經習慣在一個賽
季踢這麼多比賽，因此我們不會擔心他們的體能，他們都會帶著好狀態回來。”
