ANCELOTTI: COMPOSURE IS KEY

Nicolas Anelka returns to the squad to face his former club Bolton but
John Mikel Obi is ruled out.
Anelka has recovered from the knee injury that kept him out of Monday
night's match at Arsenal but Mikel twisted a knee joint in the same game
when tackled by Robin van Persie, a foul which earned the Arsenal striker
a booking and resulted in Mikel's half-time withdrawal.
Knee problems continue to be central to the story ahead of tonight's game
with Daniel Sturridge ruled out for the second match running. Yury Zhirkov
(calf), Alex (knee) and Yossi Benayoun (achilles) remain out.
Prior to Christmas Carlo Ancelotti indicated he would consider rotating
his team selection between the Arsenal and Bolton games but injuries have
affected his thinking.
'We don't have the possibility to do a lot of rotation but I think that I
can put in the line up Anelka, Jose Bosingwa and Ramires who didn't start
against Arsenal,' says Ancelotti.
'I think Frank Lampard could play another 90 minutes,' he reports on the
player who completed his first full game since August on Monday evening.
'He has recovered very well. He didn't have a problem against Arsenal, he
was 100 per cent fit and he needs to play.
'After three months out it is not easy to come back and play immediately
and to be comfortable. He got stronger during the game. He started slow
but the performance was good.'
Tuesday's one day of training between the Arsenal and Bolton games was
about recovery for most of the players likely to start tonight.
'We prepared tactically for Bolton before the game against Arsenal and we
don't have a problem for this reason,' Ancelotti says. 'The only problem
for this game is that we do not have enough time to recover.
'Under Owen Coyle Bolton play the same system and they improve compared to
last season.
'They are very close to us in the table. They are not involved in the
Champions League so they can manage the team to maintain the same line-up.
That helps to improve your play.
'They are doing a very good season, they have a lot of dangerous strikers
and they are playing with confidence but we need to win.
'They are a strong team, they use a lot of long balls but the main concern
for us in the game is to be intelligent. After only two days recovery we
don't have to force the tempo of the match. We have to stay quite calm and
be composed.'
