預備隊聯賽第八輪補賽精華 http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2347423,00.html RESERVE REPORT: CHELSEA 2 ASTON VILLA 1 Posted on: Tue 26 Apr 2011 Chelsea moved to within a point of reserve league leaders Arsenal thanks to first-half strikes from Carl Magnay and Adam Phillip. The Blues were two up inside 20 minutes and coasting before Villa came back into the game, and Chelsea goalkeeper Jan Sebek would be forced into a couple of important saves to maintain the lead, with the visitors hitting the crossbar at the death. Three points takes Steve Holland's men above Villa to second in the table with two games remaining, Villa having now completed their fixture list. Chelsea needed a win to maintain our title hopes following defeats to West Brom and Manchester United, and were boosted by the presence of Josh McEachran in midfield alongside Conor Clifford and anchorman Nathaniel Chalobah in a dynamic looking midfield, while Ryan Bertrand captained the side from left-back. Villa included Gary Gardner, younger brother of Birmingham midfielder Craig, in their line-up. Clifford had an early trademark drive blocked but seven minutes had not passed before Chelsea went in front through an unlikely source. Magnay has only just returned from a year out with a serious knee injury, but the centre-back was sharp enough to win a header inside the Villa box from a Gokhan Tore corner and when visiting goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist misjudged the flight of the ball, the goal was credited to the Geordie defender. It was the perfect start against a Villa side struggling to find their rhythm, regularly gifting the ball to their more eager opponents. The lead was deservedly doubled as early as the 16th minute, when Phillip, who has shown consistent form from the left wing, raced on to a McEachran through ball and lifted the ball past Siegrist. A minute later Villa were almost back in it when a Tomas Kalas clearance fell straight to Jason Lampkin, who squared for Graham Burke to shoot, forcing Jan Sebek into a fingertip save onto his right-hand post. At the other end McEachran beat a man and slipped an exquisite ball through towards Lalkovic who took a touch before Phillip let fly, Siegrist doing well to palm the ball away and then pounce on it. http://www.chelseafc.com/javaImages/f9/cd/0,,10268~9620985,00.jpg
Phillip is denied by Siegrist The game was opening up a little and it was no surprise to see Villa pull one back, Samir Carruthers driving low past Sebek from the edge of the box. As this Chelsea side likes to do, we went straight back on the attack and Lalkovic was soon claiming a penalty after going down under a challenge from Nathan Baker, though Chelsea TV replays showed no contact on the Slovakian. Villa then worked the ball into a shooting position themselves, Burke shooting narrowly wide of the far post, that before bending an effort tamely straight at the goalkeeper. You got the feeling there would be more goals to come. Lalkovic scuffed one at Siegrist and forced the keeper into a decent stop either side of a powerful Chalobah header that was turned over the bar by a Villa defender, all in the closing stages of an entertaining first period. Villa pressed hard at the beginning of the second, with Sebek forced into action as he punched cross after cross away, but it was at the other end the first major action came when Tore cut inside three men before Siegrist beat his vicious drive away from goal. Durrell Berry was booked for a late challenge on Sebek as time began to run out for the visitors, the goalkeeper recovering sufficiently to turn away Daniel Johnson's drive, which had looked destined for the top corner. http://www.chelseafc.com/javaImages/f8/cd/0,,10268~9620984,00.jpg
Phillip and McEachran win possession Man of the match Magnay made a last-ditch tackle to deny substitute Connor Taylor a shooting opportunity five minutes from time and it looked like Chelsea had done enough. Reserve team football rarely follows the script though, and Sebek would need to make one more save before full time, turning Berry's shot around the post with his foot after 88 minutes, and then with almost the last touch of the game, Villa hit the bar when Gardner headed towards goal following a long kick from the back. It was a lucky escape for the Blues, but a very welcome one. Two more wins, and Steve Holland's men will be champions.
