The Daily Telegraph and The Metro both report that Anderlecht's general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck has made several trips to London this week with a view to completing the deal for Lukaku. However, it is understood that the move will only be approved by the Belgian club if they can secure the services of Genk winger Kevin De Bruyne who will cost ￡5m. Chelsea will then be offered the option of signing De Bruyne in three years time as part of a new partnership between the clubs. Anderlecht had previously been holding out for a transfer fee in the region of ￡25m for Lukaku but the 17 year-old has just over a year left on his contract and is expected to move for ￡15m. A possible stumbling block could be the player's wage demands. He is already one of the highest paid in Belgium, earning over ￡1m a season and the Blues could be reluctant to offer such large wages to a teenager. The Telegraph claims Lukaku's father, who owns a 25% stake in his son's economic rights, is pushing for the move to go through, as well as his agent. The 6ft 3in forward as been labelled the 'new Didier Drogba' and has attracted interest from around Europe including Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid. Yet, it seems that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has moved early to land his man as he continues to rebuild his new-look squad. Lukaku has revealed he is ready for a move to a big European club, stating: "I am ready for the big jump when the time comes.
