青年聯賽第二輪精華 http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2438823,00.html YOUTH REPORT: CHELSEA 0 CREWE ALEXANDRA 2 Posted on: Sun 28 Aug 2011 === Summary === Chelsea's Under 18s were twice caught on the break by Crewe Alexandra at Cobham, after failing to take their early chances. The Blues dominated possession throughout but were unable to find the net. Crewe scored a goal in each half, both of which came as a result of counter-attacking football. It was a strong defensive display from the visitors as well. Walter Figuera consistently troubled Crewe's back line during an impressive performance by him. Adam Nditi and Lewis Baker also put in strong displays. === First-half === It took Chelsea only one minute to have the first shot on goal, when Walter Figueira struck wide of the post before Rohan Ince forced a crucial block by the Crewe defence. Crewe's tough stance on defending saw the Blues win several free-kicks just outside the area before James Ashton latched onto one of the set pieces only to drill his shot over the bar. Chelsea were dominating the visitors with possession and creative play but were unable to find the net. Figueira, Archange Nkumu and Lewis Baker all created further chances only for their efforts to fly high or wide of the mark. At the other end, Crewe hit the cross bar with a strong 20-yard strike that Chelsea shot-stopper Mitchell Beeney could only watch. It was their first real effort of the game but their second would find the net. When the visitors won a free-kick 20 yards out from goal, the subsequent ball wasn't dealt with by the Chelsea defence Crewe were able to tap it over the line. With the one-goal deficit, Chelsea continued to push forward, with Figueira proving troublesome for the Crewe defence. But despite controlling possession, Chelsea were unable to equalise before the break. === Second-half === Crewe came out the better side in the second half and within minutes had forced Beeney to stretch only for a long-range volley to bounce wide of the goal. Chelsea soon retaliated, with Baker shooting over from 20 yards out. But as the visitors continued to apply the pressure, much of the play was taking place in Chelsea's half. Then Adam Nditi broke into the box before being brought down. It was a reasonable penalty appeal but the referee waved play. Moments later, Nditi would have another chance on goal only for his effort to be blocked. Another penalty appeal was ignored soon after, when a Crewe player seemed to handle the ball in the area. Figueira's insisted a penalty should be given by the referee decided against it. Figueira continued to push for an equaliser and came closest to finding the net 10 minutes from time, when a quick turn allowed the striker enough space to launch a shot goal-ward, only to hit the bar. Then Crewe put the game beyond reach against the run of play. As Chelsea continued the hunt for an equaliser, they left themselves open at the back and when Crewe broke on the counter there wasn't much to get in their way. After breaking clean through on the keeper, Crewe's striker coolly slotted home to make it 2-0.
