青年聯賽第17輪 http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2569943,00.html YOUTH REPORT: CHELSEA 2 WEST HAM UNITED 3 Posted on: Sat 07 Jan 2012 Chelsea's youth side went down to an injury-time indirect free-kick at Cobham on Saturday. Adi Viveash's Blues dominated the game for long spells but were beaten at the death by a close-range drive after goalkeeper Jamal Blackman had instinctively handled a backpass inside his box. West Ham had led twice in the first half but Chelsea equalised first through an excellent Amin Affane (pictured) free-kick and then a delicate Nathan Ake header, and will have felt they should have won the game after forging a number of second-half openings. Islam Feruz poked over in the fifth minute after latching onto a through ball and then Lewis Baker curled a shot into Hammers keeper David Woutton's arms as Chelsea exerted early first-half pressure but it was the visitors who went in front on 11 minutes when captain Blair Turgott cut inside from the right and finished accurately past Jamal Blackman. It wouldn't be long before Chelsea levelled though, Affane bending home a left-footed shot into the top corner from 25 yards. Chelsea were doing all the attacking, with Lucas Piazon, John Swift and Lewis Baker all demonstrating their creative qualities, but completely against the run of play West Ham went back in front when Pelli Ruddock pulled back for Milo Taylor to convert from close range shortly before the half-hour. The Blues responded immediately though when Ake flicked Affane's cross-shot into the bottom corner. The Dutch defender was then booked for a strong tackle on Ruddock. A Chelsea breakaway might have brought a third but Feruz was again just off target after Todd Kane slipped him in and then Baker worked the keeper twice more before Adam Nditi shot wide following a slick passing move in first-half injury time. Piazon, who trained with the first team on Friday, and captain Daniel Pappoe, still working towards full fitness, were both withdrawn at half-time with Wednesday's FA Youth Cup tie at Norwich in mind. Archange Nkumu stepped back into defence as Anjur Osmanovic slotted into midfield, while schoolboy Alex Kiwomya replaced Piazon in the front three. Jack Powell sent a free-kick just past Blackman's right-hand post as again West Ham threatened despite Chelsea pressure, Feruz the main protagonist early in the second period. Ake's sliding tackle denied Dominic Vuse a likely goal inside the Chelsea box while Feruz again forced a decent stop from Woutton after Kane's incisive pass. Roles were reversed five minutes from time when Kane, now on the right wing, went through but Woutton made an excellent one-handed save low to his left to keep his side level, and when Blackman picked up a short backpass in added time to give West Ham the chance to win it, Powell made no mistake as he fired through a crowd from just a few yards out. Viveash now has some work to do to pick his players up before Wednesday, but they can take heart from the number of goalscoring opportunities created against a resilient West Ham.
