Patrick joins us on a permanent deal after making two first-team appearances for Forest, his debut having come as a substitute on the last day of 2011 against Cardiff City, and he will go into the reserve setup with Dermot Drummy. In pre-season, the Grantham-born England Under 18 international scored a hat-trick against us in a youth team friendly, and has recently shown his goalscoring capabilities in the FA Youth Cup, scoring five times in a 9-1 win over Wigan Athletic before netting four in the next round at Southampton last week. Because of his involvement with Forest, Patrick will be cup-tied for our own Youth Cup campaign. He was a second-half substitute against Chelsea in the Youth Cup back in 2010 when still a 16-year-old. That was the season we won the competition. With Forest since he was eight, Bamford debuted for the national Under 18s in November 2010, and is also capable of playing on the left wing. -- "We believe the same thing."
