VIDAL SASSOON 1928-2012

Everybody at Chelsea Football Club has been saddened by the death of
celebrity hairdresser Vidal Sassoon, a long-term fan of the club.
Vidal, who was 84, was also a member of the health club at Stamford Bridge
and a popular figure among our players during the 1960s and '70s.
Having attended his first game as a 14 year old in 1942, at the height of
'Swinging London' he would attend matches at Stamford Bridge with a
celebrity crowd including actors Terence Stamp and Michael Caine, and was
good friends with the likes of Terry Venables and Peter Osgood.
Though spending much of his later years in California, he would come to
see his team in London whenever he could and attended our Los Angeles
social function during the US tour in 2006.
He was photographed as a visitor to the Chelsea TV studio in his later
years.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
