Roberto Di Matteo still regards beating Blackburn at the Bridge as important to build momentum ahead of the Bayern Munich game, but his selection will take into account what best suits the players likely to be involved in Germany. == Squad News == David Luiz and Gary Cahill will take no part in the game on Sunday but Di Matteo remains hopeful they will have recovered from hamstring injuries in time to play in Munich. John Mikel Obi, who missed Tuesday's game at Liverpool due to a knee problem, is a doubt for the Blackburn game but will be fit for the Champions League final. Regarding his injured centre-backs, Di Matteo is not concerned about a lack of recent match action should they be fit for the final, although he admitted there was a plan to have David Luiz back playing before that game. 'We are trying our hardest to have them in the group training next week,' the interim first team coach said. 'They have been out three or four weeks so it is not like three months and with the suspensions we have, we have to push them as hard as we can. 'We always try to get them back as soon as possible and we tried but he [David Luiz] wasn't ready and so now we are trying for the next game. We have to look at ourselves and our interests rather than think about Euro 2012 and if Cahill is fine he will play. Mikel is better. I'm not sure for Sunday but he should be fine for next Saturday.' Against Blackburn Di Matteo will be including players also in his thoughts for the starting line up in Germany, should he consider it beneficial. 'It is going to be a mix, one or two youngsters and some of the other guys that need a game as well. We have to find a balance, there are also going to be players who are going to be involved next Saturday,' he reported. == On facing Blackburn == While Di Matteo has plenty of reasons to look back on his part-season in charge of Chelsea as a success and has felt well-supported by the fans, the same is not the case for the manager of Sunday's opponents Blackburn who will be playing their first match since relegation and their last in the top flight for at least a season. 'It is a difficult situation when you are fighting against relegation and he [Steve Kean] must have a hard skin to have been able to deal with all the criticism he has received, but it is hard when you are down there,' said Di Matteo. 'It is not for me to judge the reaction of the Blackburn fans. I always believe that the supporters of the team have a right to give their opinion.' The match is unique for Di Matteo since he took over, having faced hugely significant game after hugely significant game up to this point. 'It will be strange, it is going to be a different game,' he agreed, 'but we want to finish our league games with a high on Sunday and carry that on for next week.' == In other news == Last night Di Matteo presented Juan Mata with his Chelsea Player of the Year Award. Today he spoke for the first time since handing over the accolade.
