Playing hosts Estonia in a four-team tournament, England were 3-0 victors with the final goal coming in the 83rd minute, just moments after Swift had been introduced. The 17-year-old midfielder was part of the Chelsea side that won the FA Youth Cup last season. This was his first appearance for England Under-19s having previously played for the Under-16s and Under-17s. Nathaniel Chalobah and Lewis Baker were originally named in the squad but have been withdrawn. The young England side equalised in the closing seconds against Ukraine in their third game in Estonia to secure first place and top seeding for the draw to come. Seventeen-year-old Swift, who is captain of the Chelsea youth team this season, remained on the bench but he played the full 90 minutes on Friday in a 6-0 win over Faroe Islands, the result that ensured qualification for the elite round of matches next spring. That was the midfielder's first start at this level.
