Chelsea midfielder Billy Clifford has extended his loan spell at
Colchester United until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has so far made five appearances for the Essex side since
making the switch, initially on a month-long deal, from Chelsea where he
had been a regular in our Under-21 side this season.
A versatile player, Clifford has been operating largely as a holding
midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 shape during his time at Colchester. His arrival
helped stem a run of nine straight defeats, and with three wins in their
last four Colchester now sit 19th in League One ahead of the weekend's
visit to Sheffield United.
