U21聯賽第18輪精華 http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/article/3754713/ UNDER-21 REPORT: CHELSEA 0 LIVERPOOL 1 Posted on: Mon 07 Apr 2014 == Summary == The Under-21s went down to their first league defeat since mid-September on a rain-lashed evening in Aldershot. Jack Dunn's strike midway through the first half ensured the visitors took all three points back to Merseyside. A later flourish from the young Blues almost brought them level as visiting goalkeeper Ryan Fulton denied Charly Musonda, Adam Nditi and substitute Kasey Palmer in the final few minutes to keep his side ahead. == Team news == Dermot Drummy made four changes from the side won 3-0 against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Friday evening, with Jamal Blackman, Tika Musonda, Charly Musonda and Islam Feruz returning to the fray. Blackman was protected by an unchanged back four of Isak Ssewankambo, Alex Davey, Andreas Christensen and Adam Nditi, while Lewis Baker and John Swift joined Tika Musonda in central midfield. Feruz led the line up front supported from out wide by Charly Musonda and Reece Mitchell. == First half == Drummy's side were looking to extend an unbeaten run that stretched back 12 games, while also strengthen their top-four position in the league table and secure an end-of-season play-off position in the fight for the title. Baker had the game's first effort, bringing a comfortable save from Ryan Fulton in the Liverpool goal, before the visitors' striker Jack Dunn fired over after progress down the right. Charly Musonda brought a good save from Fulton after 10 minutes following a bright forward move from left to right involving Baker, Swift and Mitchell. The latter found the youngest of the Belgian brothers infield and his low effort was tipped behind as Fulton dived low to his right. Blackman rushed off his line well to deny full-back Connor Randall after Jordan Rossiter's intricate ball forward, and Joao Teixeira's free-kick flew marginally wide, before a passage of the match midway through the half in which the deadlock was broken. Nditi moved forward from left-back to strike a driven effort that deflected narrowly past Fulton's far post, before the goalkeeper dropped the resultant corner under pressure and the visitors had to rely on a covering defender to head off the line. http://www.chelseafc.com/javaImages/91/62/0,,10268~12739217,00.jpg
Liverpool responded as Kris Peterson won the ball in midfield and threaded an excellent through ball for Dunn, narrowly evading the covering Davey, and the striker finished confidently beyond Blackman to give his side the lead. That sparked the young Reds' best spell of the game up to that point as Lussey tested Blackman from the edge of the box, before Tika Musonda had to recover brilliantly to poke Peterson's centre behind for a corner as the wideman got in behind the defence down the left channel. Feruz snatched the ball off Jordan Williams and unleashed a venomous shot that dipped a couple of inches over Fulton's crossbar after 44 minutes. as the half ended with several breaks in play and a booking apiece for either side. == Second half == Liverpool started the second period on the front foot. Peterson dragged his shot past the far post when positioned promisingly and then Teixeira rattled the woodwork from a free kick inside the opening five minutes. Drummy introduced Alex Kiwomya (pictured below) after 55 minutes and the winger was immediately involved in the action as he fizzed a strike beyond Fulton's far post, however clear-cut chances remained at a premium. Mitchell's centre from the right narrowly evaded Kiwomya in the six-yard box as the hosts pushed forward in increasing numbers, though it was Blackman forced into a good save down low to keep the deficit at one. http://www.chelseafc.com/javaImages/97/62/0,,10268~12739223,00.jpg
克旺米亞 Substitute Palmer fired over the bar shortly after his introduction in place of Swift, before home penalty claims were waved away by the busy referee as Feruz went down under a challenge in the box. A crowd 3602 supporters had come down to Aldershot's Electrical Services Stadium to witness the encounter between two of the league's top-four sides and they were not disappointed as an entertaining contest reached its conclusion. Nditi recovered well to pinch the ball off the toe of substitute Marc Pelosi before a grandstand finish. Fulton denied Musonda's drive from distance but let the ball squirm out of his hands and the lurking Nditi almost turned the loose ball over the line before the keeper intervened again. Then Palmer's mazy forward run opened up some space and his effort was heading for the top corner before a fantastic save turned the ball behind. Blackman came charging forward to try to bolster the Blues' aerial attacking options but Liverpool defended resolutely and held on to the three points to keep themselves top of the table. Next up for the Academy is the FA Youth Cup semi-final first-leg against Arsenal this Thursday, 10 April. The game is being played at Stamford Bridge and updated ticket information is below. == Manager reaction == Drummy conceded that the better side had won on a frustrating evening for his side. Speaking to the official Chelsea website after the game, he said: 'I thought Liverpool played as a team. They pressed us and had a lot of quality up front. 'The pitch was great and fast and suited both sides but the quality of our passing was there and we didn't hurt them enough. It was a disappointing first half and then in the second half they got a bit tired and we started to open them up a bit. 'We left the best until last really. Adam Nditi could score and then the keeper pulled off a great save right at the end from Palmer, but I felt it was a fair result. We lost Jeremie Boga to injury and decided to rest Izzy Brown ahead of Thursday but that's no excuse and now we have to regroup mentally. 'Some of these boys will go on to play in the Youth Cup later this week and then we play at Villa Park on Monday, so it's great development for them but we're disappointed tonight. It's our third defeat of the season and that bit of quality from our senior players wasn't there tonight.'
