The former Leeds and Chelsea striker was unveiled on Thursday at League Two Albion on a two-and-a-half-year deal. He has penned a contract worth ￡40,000 a year, making him one of the lowest paid bosses in the top four divisions. England captain Wayne Rooney is making ￡300,000 a week at Manchester United - meaning he gets roughly Hasselbaink's annual wage EVERY DAY. Brewers chairman Ben Robinson admits Hasselbaink would have earned more in a week as a player than he will in 12 months as the Staffordshire club's manager. But ambitious Hasselbaink, 42, said: "I can't live without football. Football is everything for me. I want to stay in football. Money was not the motivation. "The motivation was the club, the set-up, the beliefs, the players, the atmosphere in the stadium and the places where Burton want to go." Hasselbaink was recommended for the post by Derby's former England manager Steve McClaren, who coached him at Middlesbrough. He becomes only the third black boss in the top four divisions of English football, alongside Chris Powell of Championship Huddersfield and Keith Curle at Carlisle in League Two. But ex-Dutch international Hasselbaink added: "I applied for this job because I know I am the right person – white, black or whatever.
