Chelsea's Islam Feruz at career crossroads; did he leave Celtic too soon?

Chelsea striker Islam Feruz is a reported target for Bolton Wanderers, as
his career is already at a make-or-break stage at the age of just 19.
Feruz was recently sent back to Stamford Bridge after an unsuccessful
spell on loan at Blackpool - his third failed loan move in a row.
The teenager joined Russian side Krylya Sovetov in 2014, but remarkably
changed his mind just 24 hours later, returning to Chelsea without even
playing a game.
He did move on a few days layer, joining Greek side OFI Crete on a
six-month loan deal - where he played just once before again being sent
back to Stamford Bridge.
Blackpool got just two games out of Feruz before manager Lee Clark sent
him packing, leaving Feruz in the football wilderness again.
Yet, maybe we should have seen this coming. After all, Feruz made the
controversial move to turn his back on Celtic in 2011 and join Chelsea at
the age of just 16.
Feruz had been with Celtic since the age of 10, and was considered to be
one of the stars of the future for the Scotland national team, impressing
in the Celtic youth setups with his pace and skill.
Yet whilst he could have enjoyed steady development in Glasgow, eventually
being introduced to the first team as he progressed as a teenager, he
chose to turn his back on the club that gave him a chance in a bid to make
it big with Chelsea.
Given how his career is panning out right now, maybe Feruz regrets his
decision to leave so soon rather than developing at Celtic.
There is of course still time for him to turn things around - but after
three failed loan moves and no breakthrough at Chelsea in sight, Feruz
needs to kick on sooner rather than later; and maybe reuniting with former
Celtic boss Neil Lennon at Bolton will help him do just that.
