U18南區聯賽第13輪精華 http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2015/11/ under-18s-report--aston-villa-4-4-chelsea.html Under-18s report: Aston Villa 4-4 Chelsea Sat 7 Nov 2015 Our Under-18s picked up a league point on the road this morning (Saturday) as both Mason Mount and Harvey St Clair netted braces in a thrilling encounter. Villa took the lead early on but came from behind three times to snatch a late point against the leaders in the south section of the Under-18 Premier League. The young Blues started slowly, struggling with the difficult windy and rainy conditions, and were made to pay after five minutes as the hosts opened the scoring. Callum O'Hare provided the delivery from the right and captain Suliman turned the ball beyond Baxter at the back post from a few yards out. Baxter then saved Jake Humphries's low right-footed drive before the visitors settled and began to take charge of proceedings. The equaliser came within 10 minutes of Suliman's goal as Kemp advanced down the right flank, with the referee playing a good advantage, and Mount prodded in past goalkeeper Matija Sarkic from close range. Edwards's side gained confidence from levelling terms and were ahead just before the half-hour mark as Kemp again caused problems down the right and forced a save from Sarkic, who could not hold on to the loose ball and St Clair was on hand to put his side in front. The visitors were getting joy in wide areas, with St Clair cutting inside dangerously from the left and testing Sarkic with a fierce drive. However, the league leaders' advantage lasted only four minutes as O'Hare provided a lovely floated cross for Hepburn-Murphy and the striker headed beyond the helpless Baxter. The topsy-turvy, end-to-end nature of the contest continued and Mount fired us back in front 11 minutes before the break, skipping away from a defender on the edge of the box and firing low into the bottom corner. Villa responded and Baxter was forced to claw away a looping effort before denying Jack Clarke late in the half. Edwards altered his side's shape at the interval, switching to a back three with St Clair and Dasilva operating as full-backs. Mount fired over early after the restart before Corey Taylor saw a drive blocked behind after neat link-up play between Mitchell Clark and O'Hare. Opportunities continued to be fashioned at both ends as Kemp shot wide after good work from Mount before Villa equalised again just after the hour mark. Amid a scramble in the box and strong appeals for offside, the ball was turned in from a few yards out. St Clair blazed over and Dasilva's curling strike was pushed behind by Sarkic before Clark thwarted substitute Jacob Maddox with a perfectly-timed intervention after St Clair had progressed down the left and Dujon Sterling headed back towards goal. With the scores level heading towards the game's conclusion, the scene was set for a grandstand finish and the visitors looked to have won all three points in the first minute of stoppage time. The lively St Clair went beyond the right full-back before twisting back inside and rifling his finish into the roof of the net. Yet there was still time added on for more late drama as Villa snatched a late point from 12 yards out. Grant was caught out and the referee had no hesitation in awarding the home side a penalty kick, which Hepburn-Murphy duly converted. == Manager reaction == Joe Edwards reflected after the game on a frustrating morning on which defensive lapses cost his side taking maximum points back home from the Midlands. Speaking to the official Chelsea website, he said: 'It was a good test for the players to come and deal with the other side of the game in difficult conditions that made it difficult to play. 'It was a sloppy start where we went a goal down and that then makes it even more difficult but eventually we got to grips with the game plan we had worked on. I felt we played some good football and Mason, Dan Kemp and Harvey were excellent at the top end of the pitch but we made naive decisions and defended poorly at the back. When you don't defend well enough and concede four goals, that makes it difficult to take anything out of a game. 'For us to have the ball up by their corner flag with seconds left to play and end up conceding is really disappointing and it's a frustrating blow to us but it's also a learning curve for the boys and that's important.' The youth team return to action next weekend away at Southampton on Saturday 14 November. Before then, Adi Viveash's Under-21s host Liverpool at Cobham tomorrow (Sunday) in a game being screened live on Chelsea TV.
