U21聯賽第10輪精華 https://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2016/01/ under-21s-report--tottenham-v-chelsea.html Under-21s report: Tottenham 4 Chelsea 5 Mon 11 Jan 2016 Chelsea Under-21s claimed the victory in an end-to-end contest at Stevenage courtesy of a dramatic stoppage-time winner. The Blues were 1-0, 3-1 and 4-2 in front before being pegged back to 4-4 with two minutes remaining. Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori had netted in the first half either side of a strike from Shaquille Coulthirst to give us a 2-1 lead at the break. An end-to-end second period followed as Kasey Palmer made it 3-1 shortly after the restart before Coulthirst pulled another goal back. Jay Dasilva's brilliant bending strike looked to have settled the contest at 4-2 before a brace from Andros Townsend appeared to have stolen two points from the visitors. However, Jake Clarke-Salter (pictured above) drilled an effort into the bottom far corner in the third minute of added time to settle an unbelievable game. Adi Viveash made two changes from the side that were narrowly beaten at Southampton in the Under-21 Premier League Cup five days previously. Tomori and Dasilva were the returning pair, both in defence, joining Clarke-Salter and Fankaty Dabo in providing the protection for goalkeeper Bradley Collins at the back. The five ahead of the back four was unchanged as Abraham continued to lead the line up front supported by Charly Musonda, Palmer and Reece Mitchell. Captain Charlie Colkett partnered Mukhtar Ali in central midfield. Spurs included England international Andros Townsend among their starting line-up. The 24-year-old was one of seven starters for the hosts in the Under-20 age group or older, compared to just two for the Blues. The opening quarter of an hour was a fast-paced affair but with few clear-cut chances fashioned at either end. The visitors were unable to convert a number of corners into a genuine threat to Thomas Glover's goal, however the league encounter soon exploded into life with three goals in five minutes. It was the Blues celebrating the opener after 18 minutes as Abraham grabbed his 18th goal of the season in typically predatory fashion. Mitchell capitalised on a loose ball out of defence down the Chelsea right flank and advanced to the byline before delivering a perfect low centre for Abraham to prod into the back of the net. Tottenham were level after just three minutes as Anthony Georgiou's cross from the left found Coulthirst in the box and the striker's looping header floated over the stranded Collins and nestled into the top corner of the net. Yet Viveash's side found themselves back in front two minutes later as the topsy-turvy opening spell continued. Colkett's inswinging corner from the right was intelligently headed back across goal by Clarke-Salter and his centre-back partner Tomori was on hand to nod beyond Glover from close range to net his first goal since signing as a scholar in July 2014. The hosts continued to cause problems as Townsend drilled a free-kick just wide of the far post before Tomori blocked bravely from William Miller. In the final action of the half, Coulthirst blazed an effort just off-target at the near post as the Blues went in with a slender advantage at the interval. That advantage was extended just two minutes after the restart as Abraham found the supporting Palmer on the edge of the six-yard box. The 19-year-old took his time before producing an expert low finish to place the ball beyond the dive of Glover into the bottom corner and notch his 10th goal of the campaign. Substitute Alex Kiwomya fashioned a chance to make it four moments later as he raced clear down the right channel but his rising drive failed to trouble Glover. The home goalkeeper then saved well from Mitchell, who had switched to the left flank following the half-time introduction of Kiwomya, gathering the wideman's fierce shot at the second time of asking. Down the other end, Tottenham reduced the deficit with 19 minutes remaining as Coulthirst latched on to skipper Milos Veljkovic's forward pass before finishing emphatically past Collins to set up a grandstand finale. Colkett was inches away from settling the contest with an effort that flew just over following brilliant play from Palmer down the right, before the contest had its pivotal sixth goal after 81 minutes. It came for the visitors and was worthy of winning any contest as Dasilva cut inside from the left and curled a wonderful strike into the top corner. However, there was time for more late drama as the hosts struck twice inside two minutes to seemingly snatch a late point. Townsend was the man who appeared to have come to their rescue, firing a penalty past Collins after Tomori had brought down substitute Cy Goddard, before finishing emphatically from the right in the 88th minute. That would have ended any ordinary encounter but this was proving anything but an ordinary evening in the Under-21 Premier League and so it proved when Clarke-Salter's low finish beat Glover in the third minute of added time to hand the Blues all three points and back-to-back league wins for the first time this season. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2016/01/ under-21s-reaction--commendable-character.html Under-21s reaction: Commendable character Tue 12 Jan 2016 Chelsea Under-21s moved up three places in the Under-21 Premier League last night after a thrilling, last-gasp victory over Tottenham. The young Blues had led 1-0, 3-1 and 4-2 before the hosts levelled the game at 4-4 in the 88th minute. However, there was stoppage-time drama at the end of a lively encounter as defender Jake Clarke-Salter found the back of the net in the 93rd minute to ensure Adi Viveash's side went home with maximum points. After the game, Viveash praised the attacking performance of his team as they recorded back-to-back league wins for the first time this season. Speaking to the official Chelsea website, he said: 'Some of our attacking play was fantastic tonight. 'We got good numbers into the box and that showed with the goals we scored. It's great for us that three defenders have got on the scoresheet and also that we've managed to score from a set-piece because we should be more of a threat from them. 'With 20 days now until our next league match, it was so important for us to pick up a positive result. It's a competitive league and when you see the other results tonight it makes our victory all the more important. We've still got three or four games to catch up on some teams so it's not really worth looking too much at the league table yet but of course it's important for the belief to see us moving upwards. 'We're still unbeaten in the league away from home and that's important because our next game is away at the league leaders Sunderland, which will be extremely tough.' The manager admitted his side struggled for spells to take hold of the game in midfield, which prompted his half-time switch to bring Charly Musonda into a deeper role alongside Charlie Colkett, 'I thought our press was really good in the first half; we forced them into real issues but I just wanted us to show a bit more composure. I didn't feel like we had control of the midfield, which is why I made the change at half-time. The first 15 minutes of the second half was probably the most control we had in the game and we went 3-1 up in that time as well. 'We're disappointed with the goals we've conceded. Their second was similar to the one we conceded at Southampton last week where the striker rolled in between both centre-backs and that's an area we need to look at. 'The penalty is a decision that Fikayo Tomori, who had an outstanding game, mades to go to ground and hopefully the development side of it is that he doesn't make that mistake next time. Then we made a poor error in possession to give the ball away for the fourth goal when we didn't need to be chasing forward. Andros Townsend punished us with a great finish. 'I have to commend my players though because they still felt they could win the game. We had two good chances before the goal and then Jake produced a very good centre-back's finish inside the box late on. The boys were delighted at the end and rightly so.' The Blues have now recorded three victories from their past four league games and leapfrogged Norwich City, Middlesbrough and Southampton in the Division One table after the win at Stevenage. 'It's a massive three points and that will add to the growing belief in the group,' Viveash continued. 'We've scored the goals that we've threatened to score in the last three or four games. 'We know we have found scoring goals a little difficult this season but we could have had 10 and that, along with the character we showed, was the biggest positive to take from the game. We showed massive character at 4-4 to go and score again; I don't think many teams could have won the game from there.' Pictures courtesy of Dan Davies.
