U21聯賽第14輪 https://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2016/03/ under-21s-report--reading-1-chelsea-3.html Under-21s report: Reading 1 Chelsea 3 Mon 7 Mar 2016 Chelsea Under-21s continued their good recent form in the league as they picked up three points on the road this evening (Monday). Tammy Abraham fired us ahead within the opening two minutes at the Madejski Stadium but his effort was quickly wiped out as Reading equalised through Tariqe Fosu. Yet goals from Jacob Maddox and Reece Mitchell either side of the interval ensured we secured another victory that saw us climb above Tottenham into sixth in the league table. Adi Viveash made seven changes from the side that were beaten semi-finalists in a narrow defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Premier League International Cup four days previously. Dion Conroy and Fankaty Dabo retained their starting spots in defence, while Mitchell and Abraham continued in attack. Ola Aina and Fikayo Tomori made up a back four protecting Bradley Collins in goal, while Charlie Colkett and Mukhtar Ali joined to form the central midfield pairing. Kyle Scott started in the number 10 midfield role, with Mitchell and 17-year-old Maddox supporting Abraham in attack. The visitors made a lively start as Maddox almost latched on to Abraham's flicked header before they struck an early opener with less than two minutes on the clock. Scott delivered a brilliant pass forward with the outside of his right boot for Abraham to chase and the striker beat keeper Lewis Ward to the loose ball to be handed the simple task of prodding into an unguarded net. Parity in the contest was restored in less than five minutes as the Royals quickly levelled. Aaron Kuhl swung in a deep free-kick that caused problems and as the Blues struggled to clear their lines the loose ball fell for Fosu, who fired beyond Collins via the underside of the goal frame. Fosu struck over and Collins made an excellent save to deny Andrija Novakovich from close range after a teasing delivery from the right as the game remained an end-to-end affair. Abraham came close to netting a second after 13 minutes following great work down the right flank by Maddox, though his low shot rebounded back off the far post and away to safety. The striker was denied again moments later, this time by Ward after a lovely pass down the middle from Colkett, before Collins was forced into a smart reaction stop to shovel a loose ball away from Novakovich in the six-yard box. The game's third goal did arrive midway through the half and Abraham was heavily involved again as he burst forward before finding Maddox in space. The first-year scholar kept his composure as he rounded the keeper and slotted the ball into the net for his maiden Under-21 goal on his first start with the older age group. The game calmed following a pulsating first 25 minutes, with the visitors growing in confidence and beginning to control possession. It would have been 3-1 before the break but for the efforts of Ward, who got down well to his left to push Aina's low drive round the post. Collins produced a good save to push away Samuel Fridjonsson's front-post header early after the restart as the hosts enjoyed a threatening period but the introduction of Kasey Palmer gave Viveash's side an added attacking impetus. The midfielder combined brilliantly with Abraham to set up a chance for Mitchell but the pass across the face of goal was just in front of the supporting forward. Yet Mitchell made no mistake with his supporting run moments later as he arrived on time to extend our advantage. Palmer was again at the creative heart of the attack, spinning away from a defender with a deft touch before flicking the ball into Mitchell's path, gifting his teammate a simple finish from eight yards out. It was a goal that appeared to deflate Reading's hopes somewhat, although they continued to push forward in search of a route back into the game. However, it was Chelsea next coming close to another goal as Scott was twice denied in quick succession. His initial effort was kept out by Ward's smart save before a second try seconds later saw his deflected shot squirm narrowly over the crossbar and onto the roof of the net. Liam Kelly shot narrowly off-target as the final whistle loomed, while Collins denied Fridjonsson as the visitors claimed the victory that stretches their unbeaten league run to six matches. == Manager reaction == After the game, Adi Viveash reflected on a pleasing performance from his side as they made it four wins and two draws from their six away league games this season. Speaking to the official Chelsea website, he said: 'Reading is a difficult place to come and the pitch made it tricky but I felt we delivered a performance fitting of a league side. 'We won the second balls and had some really good performances throughout the team. We were a bit too open in the first half so we swapped Charlie and Kyle in midfield and that gave us a bit more of the control that we needed. 'Tammy led the line really well and we should have scored every time we attacked in the first half. We broke well into the space behind their high defensive line and then managed the game really well in the second half. 'I was really pleased with how we played in the final 20 minutes; we had to scrap and fight but we did that and put in some great blocks on the edge of the box. We probably could have had a couple more goals on the break but it's a pleasing evening. We keep our little unbeaten run going and that's another positive for us tonight.'
