In the Premier League, Conor Gallagher's first-time cross was headed past David De Gea by Mbaye Diagne to give West Brom an early lead over Man United. Bruno Fernandes equalised but the Baggies earned a decent point, and could have even won it through Diagne. It was a better outcome in Serie A for Tiemoue Bakayoko, who helped Napoli earn a 1-0 home victory over Juventus, and Davide Zappacosta, whose Genoa side drew 0-0 at Torino. Zappacosta was playing at his former home ground Trevoh Chalobah added two more appearances for Lorient to his name.
