a famous Champions League victory…

In Moscow on Saturday, Victor Moses netted a fine goal to equalise for
Spartak as they came from behind to beat local rivals Dynamo 2-1.
The Nigerian drove a shot into the far corner on the half-hour before
going off injured shortly afterwards. It was his second goal for the
Russian side who sit second in the table, four points behind leaders
Zenit.

Last midweek, Malang Sarr came on shortly after the hour as Porto edged
past Juventus after extra-time in a Champions League round of 16
thriller.
The defender was introduced with the score 1-1 and Porto recently reduced
to 10 men. Juventus quickly took the lead, and with the Portuguese side
having won 2-1 in the first leg, the tie headed to extra-time.
Sarr was part of a resolute defensive rearguard action that kept Ronaldo,
Alvaro Morata and co at bay, and then a Sergio Oliveira free-kick with
five minutes left meant Juventus had to score twice. They did manage one
goal to win the game 3-2, but it was Porto who advanced on away goals.

There were wonderful scenes in Turin after a famous European night
There was Europa League action for Fikayo Tomori and Kenedy on Thursday.
These were round of 16 first legs and produced positive results. Tomori
was at Old Trafford as AC Milan scored a last-minute away goal to earn a
1-1 draw against Manchester United.
Kenedy played the full 90 minutes for Granada as they beat Molde 2-0,
leaving them in a strong position ahead of the second leg in Budapest this
week, in what is their first ever European campaign.

Kenedy keeps a Norwegian opponent at bay
On Sunday, AC Milan lost 1-0 at home to Napoli with Tomori featuring
throughout and Tiemoue Bakayoko brought on for the visitors, while Granada
beat Real Sociedad by the same scoreline with Kenedy again a starter.
It was a bad weekend for our trio battling relegation from the Premier
League. Conor Gallagher missed a couple of chances in West Brom's defeat
at Crystal Palace, Ruben Loftus-Cheek played an hour in a false nine role
as Fulham were well beaten by Man City, and Ethan Ampadu put through his
own net in Sheffield United's 5-0 thrashing at Leicester on Sunday.

West Brom are our next league opponents
The top-flight matchday kicked off with a 1-1 draw between Newcastle and
Aston Villa in which Ross Barkley played the full 20 minutes, both goals
scored in that time.
Staying in England, Jamie Cumming recorded a remarkable sixth straight
clean sheet for lowly Stevenage as they drew 0-0 at Southend. It is now
over 10 hours since he last let a goal in.
In League One, Luke McCormick registered an assist as Bristol Rovers
thumped an Accrington Stanley side containing Jon Russell 4-1. Rovers
followed that up with a goalless draw against relegation rivals AFC
Wimbledon in which McCormick had an effort well saved.

Ian Maatsen was another to set up a goal in England's third tier, as
Charlton equalised late at home to Shrewsbury having beaten Northampton in
midweek. They remain just outside the play-off places.
Marc Guehi, who like Gallagher and Callum Hudson-Odoi has been called up
to the England Under-21 squad today, went off injured at half-time during
Swansea's draw at Blackburn last Tuesday. He missed the subsequent scrappy
victory at Luton that keeps the Swans in a strong position in the
Championship promotion race, with boss Steve Cooper expecting Guehi back
fit soon.
Matt Miazga scored an own goal in Anderlecht's 2-1 Belgian Cup semi-final
exit to Genk. Lorient, with Trevoh Chalobah in defence, drew 1-1 with Nice
in Ligue 1. They are a point and a place outside the relegation zone. A
huge game at 18th-placed Nantes awaits on Sunday.
There were defeats for Juan Castillo (Ado Den Haag) and Baba Rahman (PAOK)
this weekend, and draws for Davide Zappacosta (Genoa), Lewis Baker
(Trabzonspor) and Danilo Pantic (Cukaricki). Armando Broja went off
injured in Vitesse Arnhem's 3-1 success at Utrecht.
