Hes 9th in the NBA in scoring for a SF, 11th in FG %, 3rd in rebounds, 4th on offensive rebounds, 13th in assists, 11th in steals, 4th in blocks, 4th in double doubles. The guy is a top SF in this league, and hes 25 years old, its not his fault he dosnt run his mouth constantly, or bling it up, or yell at the coach, or do anything for publicity. And he has no POWER GAME. Baskets come off of sneak shots and slashes to the rim. He has always been MIA in big games, like the BOSTON Series. MOVE HIM like a piece of old furniture! He is the single reason that Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich are gone. In fact HIS salary is the reason HE is NOT gone! No one will take on his contract! There is a suggestion on the other thread that Deng be used to trade for Carmelo Anthony who wants out. If he stays in Denver, the suggestion is the trade Deng for Vince Carter who the magic wants off their books this year. We keep Vince who's contract expires next year and we use that money (18 million) to go after Anthony. Bulls wouldn't do to bad to go after Nene either. There are a plethora of options! I hope Deng surprises me this year and makes me eat every word, but I highly doubt it. Time for the Bulls to return to preeminence! He is starting to extends his range to the 3 point line. He hasn't shot a whole lot of 3s, but 48-125 (38%) is not bad at all. He's had some unfortunate injuries, but he looks to getting healthier and he is only 25. He might not be the most explosive athelte but he is above average, has plus size for a small forward at 6'9" and long wingspan. Don't be hating, he will be a very strong 3rd option on the team behind Boozer and Rose. Having Korver and possibly Redick will also open up his slashing game even more. Deng this past year showed that he was willing to take it to the rim strong and take contact. Yes his contract is over priced but he is still a solid player and most NBA teams would love to have him if you ignore his salary. Its not that I hate Deng, I like Deng, I liked Kirk too, I hate their contracts. Bulls manegment agrees as they have shopped Deng before. The Owner of the Blazzers said he liked Deng as well but hinted he was not a fan of his contract. I am sure with Boozer Deng can go back to being more of a slasher again, but he really is a Bench player who is being overpaid. He gives effort on defense but is nnot a good defender, he is often injured, he lacks speed, size, and athletic ability. The Bulls need a second guy on the floor who can handle the ball, create his own shot, and shoot. If he gets traded good luck to him, if he is buyin a new home good luck with that too. Its just a contract thing and the Bulls know he has a bad contract. Lots of teams like Deng they don;t like his contract, so the only way to get rid of it is to pick up another bad contract, in the case of arter a worse contract, but its over a shorter period of time. The Bulls may have made a move on JJ to force a Carter trade knowing how much the Magic like JJ. Which would be a brilliant move, I mean really bri lliant. Its really a win win move for both teams. Deng could really help out the Magic, and the cap space would really help out the Bulls next year. Who would you rather have Deng or Melo? No offense to Deng but Melo is a killer who is also really clutch. The Heat would Pi$$ themselves if the Bulls got Melo next year. They would have the Big three we would have the Fab 4. Of course the Lakers have the Super six but hey at least they are getting old. There are lots of other players out there who could be had as well for a contract swap. He made 11.4 this year and will make an addition 1 mil for the next 3 years ending with 14.3 million dollars. He is not making superstar-max contract money, but he is making a great deal of money for what you get. He is making more than 85% of the players in the league. Ron Artest - 6 million. Imagine what the Bulls could be with him instead of Deng? Rondo is making 9 mil. Ginobli is making 11.8 LaMarcus Aldrich is making 10.7 Marcus Camby 8mil Chris Kamen 11.3 My point is we are not 11.4 million dollars worth of player and its only getting more expensive. His salary is escalating and he has not improved one iota. That is not to say he is not a good player but you can get what he gives for a lot less. Bulls could trade him to LA for Ron Artest and LA would have to send Sasha Vujacic or Luke Walton to make the deal work. And most folks would argue that Ron Artest is almost TWICE the player Deng is. They would try to compare Deng to Walton straight up. Lamar Odom is only 8 mil!
