Rose's evolving 3-point shot
At the end of last season, Derrick Rose starting shooting the 3-ball at a
higher clip.
And after putting in some work so far this summer, he's speaking highly of it.
"It's there; I have a consistent 3-point shot now," Rose said Wednesday night
to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. "You'll see. I just have so much
confidence in my jump shot now. It's coming along so good. It's past even my
expectations at this point."
If Rose starts hitting from beyond the arc consistently, watch out.
If there's one area of Rose's game that needs improvement -- besides his
defense, that is -- it's his shooting range.
The Bulls also had little in the way of 3-point shooting last year. They've
shored that up some with the addition of Kyle Korver, who hit a single-single
record 52.5 percent from distance last season for Utah.
Yet, Ronnie Brewer, another free-agent acquisition for the team, is only a
career 23.4 percent 3-point shooter.
So if Rose does hit the shot consistently next season, opposing teams will
have both Korver and Rose to contend with beyond the arc next season.
