Two of those home runs came against ex-teammate and Royals starter Jose Lima (0-1), who gave up a homer in each of his three innings. Lima fell behind on a 3-0 count to Young leading off the second inning before the Tigers designated hitter lofted a 3-1 pitch into the right-center-field seats for the first run of the game. Four batters and a Carlos Pena single later, Brandon Inge took another Lima changeup deep, this time for a two-run shot over the new left-field bullpen. An inning later, after Ivan Rodriguez and his faster frame legged out a one-out double, Lima fell behind Young again before serving up a 2-1 fastball that Young drove into the seats in right. "Lima, he mixes it up, so that when you sit on one pitch, you can't [afford to] miss it," said Inge, who had three RBIs on the day. "He's good at mixing up both sides of the plate. Who knows? Opening Day can bring out the best and the worst in people." Lima, who beat the Tigers twice two years ago in his last stint with the Royals, leaned towards the latter. "I [stunk]," he said. Lima (0-1) was pulled after three innings with five runs allowed on six hits, half of them homers. Though reliever Andy Sisco briefly halted Detroit's offense, he was lifted after hitting Young on his left elbow with a pitch. Nate Field yielded one run on a bases-loaded walk to Carlos Pena and two more on Craig Monroe's ensuing single. The game was well out of hand when Young struck again, driving a Mike MacDougal offering to right for another two-run homer. Young was greeted with a standing ovation from the crowd on his way to the dugout. It was for Young, but the entire team seemed to soak it in. "It was a day [Dmitri] will never forget, no question about it," manager Alan Trammell said. "It was a day I'll never forget." -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.167.111.237
