嘿嘿 VALERON AT DEPORTIVO UNTIL 2010 It seems very likely that star midfielder Juan Carlos Valeron will finish his career at Deportivo. On Monday president Lendoiro of Deportivo announced that a new deal was reached with the 28-year old technically gifted player. When he signed at Deportivo in 2000, coming from Atletico de Madrid, a contract was reached until 2007. But the club and he have formed such a happy couple that both parties agreed to extend this deal by three more years to 2010. As Valeron will be 35-years old at that time, it's very like that his career will end Deportivo. In 2000 his buy-out clause was set at 10.000 million pesetas (about €64 million), so there's no way that interested clubs will take away Valeron without the permission of the club. And this scenario also isn't likely because Valeron loves the city and the club. Lendoiro has rewarded this and raised his salary. Valeron seems a quiet and shy person when speaking to the media, but he's very popular among the other players and the supporters. He always is there when others need him and he never seems to complain. Besides, he's famous for his eternal smile on his face and he just loves playing football. His performances have made him into a very important player at the club, as was shown on Sunday. Valeron was involved at both goals and once again displayed his enormous qualities. The next target of Lendoiro is to renew the contracts of Cesar and Victor Sanchez. Defender Cesar (26-years old) has been at the club for 4,5 seasons now and has become an important squad member. Together with Naybet and Jorge Andrade they rotate in the centre of defence. And Spanish international Cesar has shown that he's of top class and of value to the club. His contract runs until 2006. Midfielder Victor Sanchez (27-years old) has also been at Deportivo for 4,5 years now, although his contract will end next season. The wish of Lendoiro is to form a prestigious squad when Deportivo will celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2006. But already Lendoiro has succeeded in securing the future of Deportivo. The contract of Amavisca will finish this year, but Irureta doesn't need him anymore. Mauro Silva will finish his career in 2005, and by then the contract of Victor Sanchez will probably be renewed. At that time it seems likely that Naybet (35) and Djalminha (34) will be close to retirement. This leaves only the contracts of Hector and Pandiani to be renewed as both finish theirs in 2005. (好多人要退休了...Djalminha...Mauro Silva...etc.) In 2006 it's seem almost time for Molina, Fran and Romero to quit football as their contracts will run out in 2,5 years. By then both Molina and Fran will be 36-years old and Romero 35-years old. In 2007 the contracts run out of Lionel Scaloni, Capdevila and Duscher. But that leaves Lendoiro 3,5 years to renew theirs. The rest of the squad seems attached for the rest of their careers to Deportivo. The contract of Tristan finishes in 2008, the ones of Munua, Sergio, Pablo Amo, Manuel Pablo and Jorge Andrade in 2009 and the ones of Luque and Valeron in 2010. This means the supporters of Deportivo can sleep relaxed knowing that the most important players will wear the blue/white for many years to come. (啊...好可怕喔...這麼一想我整個人都毛起來了抖抖) ============================================================================ LENDOIRO COMMENTS ON VALERON’S RENEWAL The new deal of Valeron is the second contract renewal by Deportivo this season . Some weeks ago another midfielder, Mauro Silva, accepted to play one more year at Depor before he gets retires in 2005. Deportivo president Lendoiro said about the new contract signed with Canarian player Juan Carlos Valeron that this deal is the final seal of all the illusion the fans and members of Deportivo have. He also had praised towards Valeron's family when he qualified them as "exceptional". The president announced that the deal was already signed last weekend. But it wasn’t made public until yesterday because the match at Albacete was very important and the administration of the club didn't want to distract the squad. (藉口...) Lendoiro added that in the past Valeron had a great reaction to difficult times : "He is one of those people who gave a good impression. He had a difficult time last season when he get injure. But then had the reaction and the behaviour that is deserved by a real number "10". We felt we needed to do something back”. When the Deportivo president was asked about the rest of the squad he said that he is happy with them too: "I am satisfied with the performance the team. And when everybody is happy it’s very easy to reach agreements. But we don't have to go too fast”. On the other side, Valeron admitted that some days ago he received a call from Lendoiro to negotiate the new deal. He also said that he is very happy about it . “It was a thing that was meditated in our family and we concluded that it's the best for both parts". He finalized by saying that he wants to get retired at Depor: "With this new deal I will reach the end of my career here. There's still too many time in my professional life and there are too many things that can happen. But I hope to get retired at this team.
