再來一篇... THE ENGLISH CONNECTION Thursday 12th May, 2005 One of Lendoiro's options for reinforcing his squad is to finance new signings by selling some players. For now, the English Premiership is the league with the better economic situation and it seems that interest in Depor's players is rising there. This isn't the first time that Lendoiro has tried to negotiate sales with English clubs. The past transfers of Hadji to Coventry and Jokanovic to Chelsea are a precedent. Also, last summer Tottenham paid €4 million to obtain Naybet's services. This situation has opened Lendoiro's eyes and he's ready to take advantage of it. Depor's president has had several meetings with some players' agents recently, and he said that the club will listen to offers. Here's a list of the players in the market and their possible English destinations. 可能賣出部分 Walter Pandiani: Birmingham City is still the best candidate, but a final agreement seems difficult. A delegation traveled to La Coruna last week and left the city with empty hands. Rumours point to Fiorentina and Newcastle as possible buyers if the deal with Birmingham doesn't succeed. Deportivo wants €6 million for his final transfer Aldo Duscher: An interesting option to recollect some cash. Tottenham wants him and it seems that Juventus is interested too. Deportivo expects to receive an offer around the €12 million mark. Albert Luque: Lendoiro said recently that he hasn't received any offers for Luque, but sportspaper AS wrote that Liverpool is ready to exchange Luis Garcia, Josemi and Nunez for the Catalan striker. It seems that Depor's president didn't consider the offer to be a positive one. Cesar: Coloccini's arrival has closed the door to Cesar and the club is ready to sell him. His contract ends in June 2006 and Newcastle Utd. seems like his final destination. Victor: AS wrote that Lendoiro received a €10 million offer in January from Liverpool, but Depor's president canceled the deal because he wouldn't have had enough time to find a replacement. It seems that this was the watershed in the failed attempt to sign Lucho Gonzalez. It's expected that Liverpool or Everton will come for Victor in the summer. Diego Tristan: It seems that Lendoiro has lost his patience with the Sevillian striker. Rumour has it that there's an offer coming from England, but for the moment the name of the club interested in his services has not been made public. Jorge Andrade: Lendoiro doesn't want to sell him, but the offers coming from Chelsea and Manchester Utd. could be an irresistible temptation. Jorge Mendes, Andrade's agent, was in La Coruna this week and it seems that he put some offers for the Portuguese defender on the table. 買進部分 BAIANO, PETIT AND MANUEL FERNANDES ON TARGET Deportivo are still searching for the best candidates to build the centenario team and some names have been linked with the Galicians. The interest in Fernando Baiano (26) isn't new, but it seems that Hertha Berlin is interested too. The target price for the Brazilian striker is around €3 million and he has said that he would be glad to play for Depor. Armando Goncalves Teixeira 'Petit' (27) is another player in which Lendoiro has shown interest. The Portuguese plays as a midfielder for Benfica and is part of the national team. He was nicknamed Petit because of his small frame and the fact that he was born in France. He is known as 'the pitbull' by his supporters, because of the fierceness with which he faces every game. He renewed his contract with Benfica and Depor will have to pay a high price for him. However, Duscher's transfer could be the key factor in his signing. Manuel Fernandes (19) is a young Portuguese promise who also plays for Benfica. He's a midfielder who has won a place in the first team. He's a box-to-box man with a great physique and a handy ability with long-range shots. The youngster has established himself as the ideal replacement for Portuguese international Tiago, who was one of Jose Mourinho's first signings after his move to Chelsea FC last summer. Of course, Chelsea's coach is already one of Manuel Fernandes' most ardent fans. In his weekly column for the Portuguese sportspaper Record, the coach compared the young midfield player to another of his Stamford Bridge charges, tireless French international Claude Makelele. Fernandes has a contract with Benfica until 2010 and it's expected that his transfer price will be high. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 220.142.232.153
