[訪問]Mauro Silva:沒有什麼好擔心的。

Brazilian midfielder Mauro Silva (35) of Deportivo looked forward to the new
season and, among others, spoke about the pre-round Champions League matches
Deportivo will have to play. Furthermore, he spoke about the goodbye of Donato
at the club: "a cold goodbye, as there's no sentiment in nowadays football".
Q: The football world has to cope with financial problems.
A: In football has happened the same as in other financial sectors. Much
inflation and the prices now are more to reality than before. Anyway, there's
recession at the world level and football also has to cope with it.
Q: Are you happy with more realistic salaries for the players?
A: (smiling) That's a sensitive topic! Let's say that also the salaries are
more realistic now.
Q: Aren't football players overvalued?
A: I don't think so. When we see somebody like Beckham, what people want to
know about him, where he is, where he lives, it's a necessity people have to
know everything about him. But this overvalueing is something that comes from
above, from the television companies negotiating with the clubs. The numbers
were very high in all aspects.
Q: It looks like it's valued more to have a blond player than to score a great
goal.
A: Beckham is a great player, but indeed it seems to be more interesting to
know what he does off than on the pitch. His appearance helps him, he's married
to a singer... But well, there are other players who aren't that pretty but
still raise a lot of interest (referring to Ronaldinho...)
Q: You don't seem a media signing but a sentimental one.
A: Yes, you could say that. About this aspect I am very happy, that people
treat me in a very kind way. And not only as a player. I have never cried on
the pitch. But when I returned to Deportivo two years ago (Mauro Silva had
quit the club for some days) I was emotional because of the way the people
treated me. I identify myself with the supporters, the city. Well, I love the
way you have put it... a sentimental signing.
Q: One year ago Fran already said that Deportivo should start thinking about
your follow-up.
A: Follow-ups come in a natural way, and in my case it's Duscher. He has great
potential and a bright future ahead. And he has already shown that he's good
enough to start matches at Deportivo. I am convinced that it's only a question
of time before he will get a bigger role.
Q: What do you think about a team winning the Liga but axing their captain and
coach?
A: Football is business. Despite how much a player defends the colours, the
supporters don't always agree. When a player wants to leave because of another
salary, he's even more criticized. In the case of Madrid it's the other way
round: despite loving the team, if you're not useful you must go. Nobody will
pay you because you're loyal or pretty... one get's paid because of being
useful.
Q: And at Deportivo there's an exit through the backdoor for Donato.
A: To be honest, I think Donato had a very cold exit at Deportivo. I assumed
that when he left something great and warm would happen. But in the end his
goodbye was too short compared to all what he has done for Deportivo. It makes
one think again that it’s all about business, that there are no emotions
anymore and that the past doesn’t count. I think that this player, who scored
the opening goal in our Liga winning match in 2000, has left the club in a not
very glorious way.
Q: Have you spoken to him?
A: We have seen each other at the airport. I don’t know if he will continue
playing football, but he has some offers.
Q: Are you satisfied about the contract renewal of Irureta?
A: Yes. I always have said that, despite the critics, that he knows best our
current squad and with him Deportivo have done something never achieved before
in its history.
Q: You always have been talking about finishing your career in Japan. But I see
you finishing it in La Coruna.
A: Maybe, maybe. In La Coruna I have spent the best years of my life. I came
here when I was 24-years old and now I am almost 36. Everything that could keep
me at the club makes me enthusiastic, but I always have been a starter and I
would not like to wait for the latest moment possible to leave. Anyway, I will
study any offer Deportivo could make me.
Q: The target for this season is, as always, qualification for the Champions
League. Don’t you think the supporters expect more?
A: I know what you mean. But for Deportivo, from a city with 250.000
inhabitants, it isn’t easy to achieve what we have done. I don’t consider any
target impossible, but qualifying for Europe is basic to the club. Deportivo
aren’t obliged to win titles.
Q: Do you think Deportivo can win the Champions League?
A: That’s my dream. If we could do this it would be finalize my career with
a golden key. Some have said that we could not win the Liga, but we did in 2000.
So…
=======================以下與上一篇訪問重複=========================
Q: After 1,5 week of pre-season, how is the team?
A: We’re in the dynamic of every pre-season: with players coming and going.
There always are difficulties, but at the moment everything goes well.
Q: You even scored a goal.
A: That’s not important. Most important it is to gain rhythm for the matches
in the Champions League.
Q: Does it put pressure on the team to have important matches like these so
early in the season?
A: The truth is that the pre-season is different than other years. To qualify
for the Champions League is very important for us, because there’s a lot at
stake. But the advantage is that our work is orientated at a single objective.
Q: What about a possible sale of Makaay?
A: We as players should not comment much on it, but at an individual level I
think a deal would be positive for all involved
Q: And the lack of signings so far?
A: This squad already has demonstrated that it can achieve a lot. And if there
won’t be new players, I have sufficient confidence in the current squad.

有老大哥的風範。
不過他說的話有點殘忍,我上色的地方也許有點斷章取義了。
但看但Donato那一部分真的...唉...
