West Bromwich are closing in on a 2m deal for Charlton’s Chinese midfielder
Zheng Zhi just 24 hours after missing out on his team-mate Madjid Bougherra.
Charlton manager Alan Pardew has admitted he was forced to sell defender
Bougherra to Rangers for ?3m to balance the books.
Pardew says others may follow Bougherra out of The Valley.
He said: ‘The agenda here has changed. It’s very frustrating because when
I took over the club at Christmas almost 18 months ago the financial
situation wasn’t quite what was sold to me.’
