RHP Huston Street suffered a contusion on the right side of his abdomen when
he was hit by Ian Stewart's BP line drive. He is day-to-day. Street was taken
off the field in an ambulance and transported to a local hospital. The
Rockies said Street was sent home to rest, and they listed his availability
as day-to-day. Street was playing catch in the right field corner when struck
by Stewart's liner. Trainer Keith Dugger said Street felt some pain down his
right leg and fainted "two or three times" while waiting about 15 minutes for
the ambulance. The club's press release said Street was "lucid and
responsive" when the ambulance arrived.
It sounds like a significant injury. Manuel Corpas will likely fill in at
closer with Street out.
