Adam LaRoche will have season-ending shoulder surgery on Thursday.It's
probably for the best. LaRoche tried to play through a torn labrum in his
left shoulder this season, but batted just .172/.288/.258 with three homers
and 15 RBI over 177 plate appearances. He's still under contract for $8
million next season, so the Nationals will hope to get at least some return
on their initial investment.
