The Marlins have recommended surgery to repair Hanley Ramirez's ailing left
shoulder.
No date has been set, but that should come soon after Ramirez consults his
representatives. He's expected to need around 4-6 months of recovery time,
meaning he might not be ready for the start of the 2012 season. It's a major
blow to the Marlins, who were hoping to have all hands on deck for the
opening of their new stadium.
