Messi: I'll be back in two weeks
Barcelona starlet Lionel Messi is hopeful of being back in action
in two weeks.
The exciting Argentine talent has not played since tearing a hamstring
in the second leg of Barca's UEFA Champions League victory over Chelsea
at the start of March.
He has returned to his homeland as he continues his bid to regain full
fitness and it was from there that he told reporters of his hope of being
back inside a fortnight.
"I think I will be playing again in two weeks," he stated, before sounding
a note of caution.
"I don't want to put dates on it because if the recuperation takes longer
it just makes it worse.
"But I would like to play in Barcelona's league games, the Champions
League final and in the World Cup if I can.
"Ronaldinho had the same thing a couple of years ago and has told me
to remain calm."

Reds monitor Giuly situation
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is reportedly monitoring the contractual
situation of Ludovic Giuly at Barcelona.
The Frenchman scored the crucial goal in the 1-0 victory in the UEFA
Champions League semi-final in Milan this week but has not been a
regular starter under Frank Rijkaard.
Although keen to remain in Catalunya, the 29-year-old has been unable
to agree a two-year extension to his contract, with Barca believed to
only be prepared to offer another year to his present deal, which expires
in 2007.
French daily L'Equipe claims Benitez is a great admirer of Giuly's
talents and will await any developments regarding the contract
negotiations.
Lyon, Monaco, Galatasaray, Internazionale and Rangers are also said to
be ready to enter any chase for his signature, if they are given the
green light in the summer.
The former Monaco star has not given up hope of representing France at
the World Cup finals this summer as he strives for Champions League glory
with Barca after making such an impact against Milan.
Liverpool will certainly be in the market for new blood during the close
season and Benitez will be busy drawing up his transfer plans.

Blues and Barca 'want' Farfan
Jefferson Farfan's agent has stated that Chelsea and Barcelona are
keeping tabs on the PSV Eindhoven striker.
Farfan has increased his stock with a number of dazzling displays for
PSV this term and is being linked with a summer switch away from the
Philips Stadion.
The Peruvian is in no rush to make a decision on his future, as he is
clearly content with life in Holland, but an offer from a big European
player could well turn his head.
"Chelsea and Barcelona have shown recently their interest in Farfan
because they see that he fits perfectly well in the way their teams play,"
said the player's agent Raul Gonzalez. "But those aren't the only teams
interested in Farfan, there are a few more."
Farfan is likely to head away for a break this summer before taking a
decision on his future.
"We are going to wait until after the World Cup," added Gonzalez. "If
the interest of these teams still persists we will then analyse the
situation.
"But I must say that Farfan is very happy and comfortable in Holland
and doesn't have any problem in staying there for one more year."

Ronnie wary of second leg
Ronaldinho has warned against complacency after Barcelona claimed a
first leg advantage over Milan.
The Brazilian superstar tormented Milan in the second half of the match
at The Giuseppe Meazza on Tuesday and he created the only goal of the
evening for Ludovic Giuly.
However, Ronaldinho is refusing to look any further ahead than the second
leg in Catalunya next week.
"We still have 90 minutes left to play and we must not forget it,"
Ronaldinho said.
"We have done our job in Milan and now we must continue to be humble and
work in a serious manner in order to do well and win titles."
Ronaldinho had a poor first half in comparison to his second 45, but the
South American felt it was just a matter of time before he could work his
magic.
"I had to be patient," he continued.
"I had to wait until Milan gave us a space and I managed to get rid of
my marker before serving Giuly, who finished it off superbly.
"I am very happy because this win means a lot to us. To be able to beat
Milan on their own pitch is a very good result.
"This can only motivate us for the second leg."
