REAL BETIS Casto 6 - Made a fine save yo deny Eto'o, but was then a long way from connecting with the ball as the Cameroonian Striker nodded in Barça's second. Ilic 7 - Kept Barca quiet in the second half and was not blame for either of their goals in the opening period. Melli 6 - Should have stayed back to deny Barça the space for both their goals, but had a more impresive second half when keeping henry quiet. Juanito 8 - A truly stunning goal and easily enough to lift his mark above the everage. His control and precision in the tight space was impressive. Damià 6.5 - Some strong tackles in the second period showed that he was desperate to do well against his former club. Juande 5.5 - Was completely over-run and unable to cope against Xavi and Iniesta and even though they were quiet in the second half, he did not shine. Rivera 6 - Much the same as Juande, but at least had the wherewithall to move forward and test Barça's defense on occasion. Capi 6.5 - While few of his team-mates did much before the break, he looked to be one of the more impressive performers. Mark Gonzàlez 6 - Was also decent in the opening 45 minutes and it appeared to be unfair that he was taken off early in the second period. Edu 9 - When a matchwinner was required, the Brazilian stepped forward and score two fine goals and could have had a hat-trick if his penalty gone in. Pavone 6 - Failed to really cause Barça's rearguard any problems as his lack of pace allowed Thuram some respite. Substitudes Xisco 6 - Was not on long enough to have much effect on the game, although did not do anything wrong. Sobis 8 - A very effective introduction as the Brazilian did panic the Barça defense and he could have added the fourth late on. Odonkor 7.5 - His pace also caused problems and it is surprising that he did not start given that the forwards that started lacked any speed. BARCELONA Valdés 8 - It could have been had it not been for the Catalan keeper. He denied Odonkor and Sobis as well as saving the penalty. Zambrotta 6.5 - Was by no means the must cupable member of the back four and he was keen to push forward and help Barça back into the game. Puyol 5.5 - Looked confident before the break, but may feel disappointed with his second half display as he allowed Edu pass him for the winner. Thuram 5 - After a comfortable opening period the Frenchman was completed exposed in the second period as he looked slow and cumbersome. Abidal 5.5 - Odonkor caused him problems and showed that left-back is not comfortable when faced with pace and guile. Touré 6 - Not much the defensive midfeilder could have done to prevent any of the goals, but looked in control before going off. Xavi 8 - An outstanding first half performance allowed Barça to dominate as he combined with Iniesta and continued to look forward in the second half. Iniesta 8 - Had a handing both goals and was constantly looking to find ways through the Betis defense. Was nowhere near as good after the break. Henry 6.5 - The Franchman was still not look comfrotable on the left flank and looked equally incapable of doing much in the middle. Bojan 7.5 - Was a constant thorn in Betis' side in the opening period and well have been disappointed to have gone off. Eto'o 8 - Never stopped running and was often seen back in his own half tackling back and helping start to moves off. Substitudes Dos Santos 5 - Came on the replace the impressive Bojan and, once again, did nothing to live up yo all the hype.
