The paper believes that the two have always had a good relationship, compared to what Villa had with the temporary president, Manuel Llorente, who had stubbornly described the player as ‘intransferable’. In addition, Soriano had reportedly promised ‘El Guaje’ last year that he would facilitate a transfer if an appropriate offer came along, and El Mundo believes that Barca’s bid for the 27-year-old, which could also include Juan Mata, is strong enough to convince the Mestalla chairman to make good on his word.
