Jo-Wilfried Tsonga gave it his all, but his efforts were not rewarded in this
match. His physique and weight did not help him much on a very quick surface,
but he was not too disappointed about it.
“We both played a great game,"he said.“Tommy was the stronger today
and you have got to acknowledge that."He took defeat admirably and will
happily return to gain revenge in Halle next year.
“You don’t beat a top ten player every day,” admitted Haas, who now has the
chance of reaching the semi-finals of the GERRY WEBER OPEN for the third time
after 2005 and 2006. “That has not happened to me for a while now, due to
injury. Now I am looking forward to my first match against Mischa Zverev.”
