During the first timeout, the Warriors showed a Rush highlight video that was interspersed with supportive messages from teammates and fans. When a live image of Rush sitting in the front row was shown on the high-definition screen hanging above center court, he received a huge ovation. "My emotions are pretty high right now," Rush said. "I haven't been able to watch any live basketball, so I feel pretty good about getting back in here and seeing the fans and the team." The Warriors initially said Rush tore only his anterior cruciate ligament when he was pushed in the back during a dunk attempt and landed awkwardly against Memphis, but the swingman said he also tore his medial collateral ligament. He has to wait for the MCL to heal, so he won't have surgery on the ACL until next month. The Warriors' depth is being challenged at shooting guard and small forward. The team announced Wednesday that an MRI exam on Richard Jefferson revealed a strained right calf. He missed his second consecutive game, and there is no timetable for his return. In their absence,point guard Charles Jenkins has been playing off the ball. Coach Mark Jackson said small forwards Harrison Barnes and Draymond Green may also see shooting guard minutes, but none of them can completely replace Rush. Rush, who returned from a torn ACL in 2007 after five months, projects that his recovery will take six or seven months this time. He hopes to be traveling with the team and cheering from the bench by February and to be back on the court when camp opens in September. "It helps a lot, having gone through it before, because I know what to expect," Rush said.
