休伊特榮獲澳洲年度最佳青年獎
[路透墨爾本電]世界頭號網球選手休伊特(夏韋特)周六獲得澳洲年度最佳青年獎。
在墨爾本舉行的一項特別儀式上，這位21歲的溫布爾登(溫布頓)錦標賽冠軍從澳洲
總理霍華德手中接過這一獎項。
休伊特在2002年各項賽事上的優異表現為他贏得了此項殊榮。他是繼1987年的卡什
(PatCash)之後，首位在溫網捧杯的澳洲球手。
他還在去年的上海大師(名人)杯賽中奪冠，連續兩年位居年終世界排名第一。

Tennis-Hewitt named Young Australian of the Year
MELBOURNE, Jan 25 (Reuters) - World number one Lleyton Hewitt was named
Young Australian of the Year on Saturday.
The 21-year-old Wimbledon champion received the award from Australia Prime
Minister John Howard at a special ceremony in Melbourne.
Hewitt was recognised for his outstanding performances in 2002 when he
became the first Australian to win the Wimbledon singles title since
Pat Cash in 1987.
He also won the Masters Cup in Shanghai to finish the year ranked as the
world's number one tennis player for the second year running.
