Hewitt Helps Make Dream Come True
Taking time away from his Davis Cup final preparations, Australian star Lleyton
Hewitt made a young fan's dream come true last week.
Murray Brown, an 11-year-old who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis, received a
special visit from his hero, who presented him with a number of gifts.
"Murray had the time of his life and was so grateful for everything he
received," said Sharyn McLean of the Starlight Children's Foundation. "As a
tennis fan, he was so excited about all of the Nike gear, as well as the extra
games for his brand new Xbox...but most importantly meeting Lleyton. It was a
day that helped him forget about his illness and is something he will never
forget."
Murray's condition does not have a cure and he must endure constant physical
therapy and take daily medication to ease the symptoms of this disease. His
life expectancy is significantly reduced as is his ability to participate in
all the things most 11-year-old boys enjoy doing i.e. contact sports etc.
Murray's older brother Geoff, who also suffers from the condition, said that
being able to experience things like this helps them want to fight for their
life as long as they can. "Geoff personally thanked Lleyton and told him how
much it meant to his younger brother," added McLean.
