[閒聊] MKG is on the block!?
Bobcats possibly, maybe, perhaps considering the thought of shopping Michael
Kidd-Gilchrist, says ESPN's Chad Ford
有傳言教練強烈要求需要外線球員...
而且近幾場常常第4節看不到MKG身影...
So......
不知道真實性....
另外好像有我們想加入Asik交易第3隊的可能性...
Maybe是J.Green來我們家 @@"
In Chad Ford's weekly 'Tank Rank' column, he hid a bit of interesting
information in the Insider-protected post about the Bobcats and Michael
Kidd-Gilchrist.
Charlotte got its first solid win of the season against Golden State last
Monday and is on target to reach its goal of making the playoffs. And I don't
think the Bobcats' aim is going to change.
From what I can gather, all of the Bobcats' phone calls are about making this
team better now. I'm even hearing rumblings that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will
be on the table when he returns from injury.
First off, were this a concrete source, I doubt it'd be hidden behind a
paywall. I mean I get that we're a small market, but jeez, the trade
rumblings of the former No. 2 overall pick would be something to get put on
the front page, wouldn't you think?
Capiche?
Anyway, let's suppose this is based in fact and begin with the Kidd-Gilchrist
shopping rumor.
So Rich Cho and the Bobcats are going to shop Kidd-Gilchrist when he comes
back from his hand fracture when he has low value. That would not be very
smart of them. Also, general managers are probably gauging interest in their
players throughout the season.
And then there's the rest of this blurb that is just simply conflicting with
our eyes.
The Bobcats want to shift into 'Win Now Mode' and have a goal of making the
playoffs, per Ford's source. That intent on immediate success kind of flies
in the face of playing Ben Gordon for the entire fourth quarter in a close
game, unless Steve Clifford is playing host to some kind of game of chicken
with the front office to force them into getting him more talent.
Believe what you want to believe, but I think most of us can agree that
trading Kidd-Gilchrist (age 20) in his sophomore season to try and make a
10-14 team reach the playoffs is fairly short-sighted. I get that the rest of
the Bobcats core is also pretty young and have a base upon which to improve,
but depending on the return in a Kidd-Gilchrist trade (which I doubt would be
a massive haul), the Bobcats would once again be trying to win too soon over
building a more consistent base for more than a couple seasons of fringe
Eastern Conference playoff contention.
Hopefully this is just bullcrap trade scuttlebutt to whir up chatter, in
which case, well done. It worked.
