Klinsmann was transferred from Monaco of French First Division to Tottenham Hotspur of British Premier League. The main reason of this transaction was mainly due to the low average goal rate of Klinsmann. In, Monaco, Klinsmann could only score one goal from three league matches averagely, this was really a low average goal rate for Klinsmann, so Klinsmann would like to move to a club which plays attacking football - Tottenham Hotspur. In 94/95 season, the Spurs signed Klinsmann, Ilie Dumitrescu and Gica Popescu in order to enhance the attacking power. Teddy Sheringham, Nick Barmby, Darren Anderton and new signings Klinsmann, Dumitrescu formed the front line of Tottenham this year. However, Tottenham performance was not so good at the beginning of this season as the defence of Tottenham was so weak. Contrastly, Klinsmann (42場球,丟58球) performance was so good, he scored six goals from the first six league matches and finally, he scored one goal from two league matches averagely. After the bad start of this season, the manager of Tottenham was sacked in November, the successor was Gerry Francis. With the management of Francis, the defence the Spurs had improved, and with the goals from Klinsmann, Tottenham finished the league at the eighth out of twenty-two teams. Although Klinsmann could not win the Premier League title, this season was a real success to him. It was because he had changed the mind of the British. At first, the British hated Klinsmann, they said Klinsmann was like an actor acting for a free kick or penalty, some one even called him 'The King of Diving'. But Klinsmann uesd excellent football skill, beautiful goals and good conduct to changed the mind of the British completely. At last, he was even voted to be the Footballer of England Klinsmann in this year.
