[情報] Indians sign RHPs Herges, Cassel
CLEVELAND (TICKER) —The Cleveland Indians on Friday signed righthanders Matt
Herges and Jack Cassel to minor league contracts and invited them to spring
training as non-roster players.
Herges, 38, has a career record of 40-34 and a 3.94 ERA in 537 games for seven
over his 17-year professional career. He joins Steve Finley as the only players
in major league history to have played on every team within a five-team
division, both appearing for all five National League West clubs.
Herges spent last season with the Colorado Rockies, posting a 3-4 record with a
5.04. He was placed on the disabled list in late August with lower back
stiffness.
Cassel, 28, has appeared in 15 games - seven starts - over parts of the last
two seasons with the San Diego Padres and Houston Astros. He has a career
record of 2-2 with a 4.92 ERA.
Cassel is the older brother of New England Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel.
