The goalkeeper was set to walk out this summer, but the arrival of Coach Claudio Ranieri and a confident transfer campaign convinced him to extend his contract until 2012. Buffon 今夏本要離開，但是 Ranieri 就任與轉會作戰說服了他續約到2012年。 “Remaining at Juve was a wonderful decision,” said the former Bianconeri and Italy boss. “He is a very special person and so all his choices are consequently special. Deschamps 辭職之時曾有要請 Lippi 執教的傳聞，不過他沒打算提早復出。 “I still needed a few months away from my work for personal reasons. I did not refuse the Juve job and the rapport between us remains splendid.
