Pavel Nedved seemed on his way out of Juve following the latest developments which led to indicate the former Golden Ball winner was set to retire from the football scene after failing to reach an agreement with the Old Lady's directors. However, late on Tuesday evening, 'SkySport Italia' reported that following a dinner with Director of Sports, Alessio Secco, Nedved agreed to remain with the Turin based side without any problem, thus halting the rumours which said that Inter were behind the Czech midfielder's refusal of staying with the Bianconeri. On Monday and Tuesday morning, Nedved had meetings with the directors of Juventus, but both parties seemed far away from reaching an agreement, therefore this news comes in as a surprise. The Czech veteran had threatened to quit the club after his demands for a pay rise were initially denied by general manager Jean-Claude Blanc, but it seems that the ex-Lazio man’s words had the desired effect. The deal was agreed last night as Nedved had dinner with sporting director Alessio Secco without his agent Mino Raiola and will see the 34-year-old serve out the remaining year of his contract on a higher wage. Nedved accepted a pay cut of nearly 50 per cent to stay in Turin after Juve’s demotion to Serie B and is now believed to have negotiated a salary that is close to his original figure for his seventh season as a Bianconero.
