Penny Hardaway also left the team Monday, but of his own volition, to
travel to Houston to work out on his own in an attempt to overcome
quadriceps problems in both legs.
Thus, in one day, almost $45 million worth of players left the Knicks
(Hardaway makes $15.75 million in the final year of his deal).
As for Hardaway, inactive for all but four games this season, Brown said
he would be working out with former NBA standout John Lucas, plus a strength
coach, while in Houston. Hardaway also left the team last season for his
home in Memphis to undergo acupuncture treatment for hamstring problems.
