Knicks Sign Four Free Agents

NEW YORK, October 2, 2006 – New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball
Operations Isiah Thomas announced today that forward Elton Brown, guard
Milone Clark, center Paul Miller and forward Nikoloz Tskitishvili have been
signed as free agents. As per club policy, terms of the deals are not
announced.
Brown, 6-9, 255-pounds, is an NBA rookie who went undrafted after a four-year
collegiate career at Virginia. In 2005-06, Brown spent the final five games
in the NBA Development League with the Florida Flame and averaged 13.8 points
and 9.8 rebounds in 31.8 minutes per game. Selected by the Colorado 14ers
with the first overall selection in the 2006 NBA D-League Expansion Draft on
Sep. 19, Brown averaged 11.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 22.3 minutes per game
during his four years at Virginia.
Clark, 6-4, 215-pounds, is an NBA rookie who went undrafted after a four-year
collegiate career at Tennessee Tech. In four years with the Golden Eagles,
Clark averaged 8.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 23.5 minutes per game. As a
senior in 2005-06, Clark averaged 10.5 points and 4.4 rebounds in 27.5
minutes per game in leading Tennessee Tech to a 19-12 record.
Miller, 6-10, 250-pounds, is an NBA rookie who went undrafted after a
five-year collegiate career at Wichita State. In 132 career games at
Wichita State, Miller averaged 10.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in 23.3 minutes
per game. As a senior in 2005-06, Miller posted career-highs of 13.1 points
and 6.6 rebounds per game while becoming the first Shocker to be named
Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year since Xavier McDaniel in 1985. A member of the Knicks’ entry in the 2006 Toshiba Vegas Summer
League, Miller averaged 7.4 points in 16.4 minutes per game in five games
played.
Tskitishvili, 7-0, 225-pounds, is a four-year NBA veteran who was selected
by the Denver Nuggets with the fifth overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft from
the Republic of Georgia in Eastern Europe. Tskitishvili (SKEE-tish-VEE-lee),
has averaged 2.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 172 career games with Denver,
Minnesota and Phoenix. He averaged 2.1 points and 1.8 rebounds with Minnesota
and Phoenix during the 2005-06 season and made his first career postseason
appearance with the Suns in the 2006 NBA Playoffs. Waived by the Suns on
Jun. 30, 2006, Tskitishvili was claimed off waivers by Portland before being
released on Jul. 5, 2006.
The Knicks training camp roster is now at 18.
