Real Sociedad have rejected an offer from Liverpool for midfielder Xabi
Alonso.
Marca says Liverpool had a bid of ￡8 million turned down by Sociedad on
Monday.
Real Sociedad are insisting on ￡12 million for Spanish international Xabi
, 22, and are hopeful that Real Madrid will enter the race.
San Sebastian officials are urging Real Madrid to make known whether they
're still interested in Xabi, who could still be signed Madrid, despite the
imminent arrival of Patrick Vieira from Arsenal.
