[外電] It's All Tied Up
It's All Tied Up

Running out of room for error and forced to go small when center Chris
Kaman was hurt, the Clippers shot it out with the Suns and lived to tell
about it.
Elton Brand scored 30 points and Sam Cassell had 28 as the Clippers lost
12 points of a 13-point fourth-quarter lead but held on to beat the Suns,
114-107, Sunday in Staples Center to tie the Western Conference
semifinals, 2-2.
Game 5 is Tuesday in Phoenix.
The Suns trailed, 106-93, midway through the fourth quarter but scored
12 points in a row, cutting it to 106-105 on Leandro Barbosa's driving
layup.
However, Brand then hit a 16-foot jumper to make it 108-105. The Suns'
Tim Thomas then missed a three-pointer and Cassell hit one to put the
game out of reach.
The Clippers started Game 4 smarting from their Game 3 loss, with Coach
Mike Dunleavy, criticized for sitting Brand for a key stretch in the
Game 1 loss, criticized again for benching Cassell in favor of Shaun
Livingston at the end of Game 3.
Before Sunday's game, the mild-mannered Dunleavy bristled at a report
he had done it to give Livingston some experience.
"Guys are out of their minds," Dunleavy said. "First of all, if you did
your homework, you would see that Shaun Livingston started the last
game in Phoenix [in the regular season] and played extremely well, 12
points, 13 assists [and] we won, 119-105 ....
"If Sam was knocking down shots all over the place like he usually is,
then you make that change. But at the game, I'm sitting there saying
to myself, 'I've got a great defender out on the floor. I've got [Corey]
Maggette rebounding better than I've ever seen him rebound my whole
life. I've got [Vladimir] Radmanovic draining threes. I've got Elton
Brand doing what he does. I've got Kaman "
Unfortunately for Dunleavy, he learned shortly before Sunday's game that
Kaman wouldn't be able to play this time and there went the inside game
the Clippers had been trying to pound the Suns with all series.
Instead, it was small lineup versus small lineup, with Maggette going
into the starting lineup.
Voila! Maggette scored 16 points in the first half as the Clippers took
a 61-51 lead.
The Suns jumped out ahead, 9-2, but after that, it was all Clippers for
the rest of the half. They went on a 10-2 run to take a 33-28 lead at
the end of the first quarter. When Livingston scored on a rebound in the
closing seconds of the half, the Clippers had a 10-point lead.
Notes: NBA commissioner David Stern said at an informal news conference
before the game that he was pleased for the Clippers and their fans.
"Good for them. I think it's great," he said. "Thirty years is a long
time to wait for the second round." The Clippers won a playoff series
this spring for the first time since 1976. ... Counting the playoffs,
Kaman has played in 86 games this season, starting 85.
