CAM OPEN COMUNIDAD VALENCIANA May 3, 2003 Arnold-Hood Claim Doubles Crown Lucas Arnold and Mariano Hood captured the doubles title in Valencia with a 6-1, 6-7(7), 6-4 victory over Brian MacPhie and Nenad Zimonjic. The Argentines, who won their first title together in San Marino in 1999, reunited this year in Estoril, where they reached the final. After losing in the first round in Barcelona, Arnold-Hood were playing in only their third tournament of the year together in Valencia. Hood has now won seven career ATP titles, three of which have been this year in Vi禃 del Mar (w/Calleri), Buenos Aires (w/Prieto), and Valencia (w/Hood). Arnold now has won 10 ATP doubles titles. Valencia is his first title of 2003, while reaching the finals in Buenos Aires (w/Nalbandian) and Estoril (w/Hood). "This is our first title since teaming up again," said Hood. "This is the third tournament that we have played together this year. It has been a good partnership, reaching the final in Estoril and then winning the title here. I thought we were going to win the match in straight sets. We had four match points in the second set tie-break. When it went to a third set, I knew it was going to be very difficult and it was. We are a little bit relieved to have recuperated and won the match." Arnold added: "This is the first tournament that I have won as a father.
