Players can no longer “advance," "progress,” “move on,” “go through,” “go out,” get “knocked out” or even “ousted” – it’s just plain old “win” or “lose” until someone actually clinches. 第二個是記者不能在用一些平常賽制的用語，其實po賽事結果時也會怪怪的，不能第一場打完馬上就用 "打敗誰晉級下一輪" ，"或是淘汰了誰"。有趣的是數學問題來了，還在進行中的Las Vegas男網賽， Guga，Hernych，Becker這一組，目前的局面是 Hernych d. Becker 63 75 Herych 1W，100% sets won，59.1% games won Becker d. Guga 64 63 Becker 1W， 50% sets won，50.0% games won Guga 0W， 0% sets won，36.8% games won 明天要打的比賽Guga vs Hernych，假如Guga要晉級的話必須兩盤打敗Hernych，而且要丟少於六局，除非某一盤是7-5或7-6，可以丟少於七局。要是多於七局(或八局)，Becker晉級。而Hernych要晉級，只要贏一盤就可以了(無論他贏或輸)。要是明天的比數是Guga 6-3，6-4獲勝，那三人便會平手，由排名高的Becker出線。另外Fernando Verdasco是目前第一個晉級者，當他昨天輸了第二盤後(已經拿下一盤)，他還問了一下，他需不需要贏這場比賽XD。也有很多人(可能)因此退賽，上禮拜阿根廷，Gaston Gaudio, Jose Acasuso, Agustin Calleri and Nicholas Lapentti all withdrew. 這禮拜也有Spadea退賽，而代替他的小盧就是"first round lucky loser"之一所以Hewitt也發表他的看法， “It’s got to be simplified a little bit, I think.
