http://www.espnstar.com/football/premier-league/news/detail/item885461/Suarez-saves-Reds,-QPR-held-by-Reading/ Liverpool were unable to celebrate Steven Gerrard's 600th game for the club with a victory as they were held 1-1 by Newcastle at Anfield. The Reds had to battle back from a goal down to even secure a share of the s poils and failed to make the most of Fabricio Coloccini's late red card as N ewcastle secured a point from a solid defensive display. Chances were few and far between in the opening exchanges, although Newcastl e were troubled by the pace of Raheem Sterling on a couple of occasions befo re his final ball proved a let-down. Neither keeper had a serious early save to make, with Luis Suarez's 20-yard free-kick just over the angle of post and crossbar the closest Liverpool cam e. Suso's tricky run five minutes before half-time produced another half-chance that was deflected wide but it was Newcastle, on a rare trip towards the Ko p, who broke the deadlock with a goal of true quality in the 43rd minute. Hatem Ben Arfa turned Jose Enrique inside out down the right flank and dinke d a ball over to the far post where Yohan Cabaye controlled and volleyed pas t Brad Jones from a narrow angle. Tim Krul was finally called into action in the 58th minute when Suarez made room for himself on the edge of the box and fired goalwards, but the Dutch k eeper went full-length to push his effort around the post. Nuri Sahin had an effort deflected just wide but, just as Anfield's frustrat ion levels reached danger point, Liverpool pulled level on 67 with another g oal worthy of England's top division. Enrique's long pass looked more hopeful than anything, but Suarez took the b all on his chest, held off Coloccini and nipped around Krul before tapping i nto an empty net. The Uruguayan almost helped Liverpool into the lead seconds later when he tr icked his way into the box and set up Jonjo Shelvey, but the sub could not g et a meaningful shot away and Krul gratefully clutched the ball to his chest . Steven Taylor rescued Newcastle with a brave block from Sterling while Ben A rfa's greed cost them at the other end when his shot was saved by Jones afte r he failed to spot Sammy Ameobi galloping clear. Coloccini was dismissed seven minutes from time for an ugly, high studs-up l unge on Suarez - he was lucky not to be caught flush on the knee - but Shelv ey wasted a free header and Suarez's deflected free-kick bounced off the top of the bar with just about the final kick to leave Liverpool on just one ho me win this season. Both QPR and Reading are still waiting for their first Premier League wins o f the season after a tight tense encounter finished 1-1 at Loftus Road. Kaspars Gorkss had hooked Reading ahead early on before Djibril Cisse stabbe d home a second-half equaliser and Adel Taarabt. Noel Hunt should have done better than screw across the face having been tee d up by Jay Tabb as the visitors made a enterprising start. Cisse had QPR's first shot in anger as he fired wide from 20 yards but it wa s Reading, with Jobi McAnuff a constant menace, who continued to force the p ace. Taarabt then teed up Junior Hoilett who could not find the target with his l eft-foot from 22 yards before the breakthrough that Reading had threatened d uly arrived. First Sean Morrison struck the crossbar with a free header and Gorkss (16) l atched onto the rebound and hooked the ball home from six yards. Samba Diakite then set up Cisse who missed his kick 14 yards from goal to su m up the growing frustration in the home ranks. Taarabt blazed over while Nick Shorey's free-kick was too high but it needed a wonder save from Alex McCarthy to keep the scores level as he tipped Este ban Granero's free-kick onto the bar at full stretch. Mikele Leigertwood planted a free header over the top before Rangers finally managed to build up a head of steam, albeit without troubling McCarthy. The equaliser came when Cisse (66) latched onto a Jose Bosingwa cross and st abbed the ball past McCarthy from six yards out. Substitute Jimmy Kebe blazed over after a surging run as the game opened up before Taarabt passed up a glorious chance to win it, failing to beat McCart hy from 10 yards having been teed up by Cisse. Bobby Zamora was inches away from connecting with Cisse's cross in added tim e and the latter blazed narrowly wide from distance in a frantic finale. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 103.6.84.152
