M.E.N Prediction: Liverpool 1-2 Manchester United - Liverpool played on Thursday and as United know, occasions like this can affect performance Key opponent: Luis Suarez - all the controversy aside, the Uruguayan is a dangerous, talented player LAWRO'S PREDICTION Liverpool 1-1 Manchester United This is a massive game for all sorts of different reasons, but the main one is that this is the first home game Liverpool have had since the new Hillsborough verdict. And I do feel that United will be extremely willing participants in whatever happens before the game, I wouldn't worry too much about any rogue chanting from either set of supporters because they all get the importance of the revelations from last week. Once the game kicks off it will be a blood and thunder encounter because it always is. I'm expecting it to be closely fought too. Liverpool just cannot get a goal at the moment, and we could probably write the same thing about them every week between now and January when the transfer window opens. But United looked vulnerable at the back against Galatasaray in the Champions League, when they were a bit careless in possession. To be honest, they have been a bit sloppy like that since the start of the season but they won on Wednesday and, apart from at Everton in their opening game, they have won every other game too despite not playing well yet.
