I'm left shaking my head again after reading this tidbit in today's Mariners
Notebook:
With the Mariners playing nothing but contenders the rest of the way (Boston,
Oakland, Anaheim and Texas), Bob Melvin said that will limit the amount of
playing time his rookies will get.
This team needs to look to the future. Who cares whether you are playing a
contender or not? Jeremy Reed and Greg Dobbs should be in the lineup nearly
every day for the rest of the season.
Plus, it's not like Willie Bloomquist and Scott Spiezio are going to do any
better (you could probably guess that I think playing Bloomquist at first
base is about the most idiotic thing we've seen all year -- a first baseman
with a .314 slugging percentage).
With Bucky Jacobsen out for the season, why not play Ibanez at first, Reed in
center, Winn in left, Dobbs at third and Edgar at DH?
在讀完今天水手Notebook中的一段文字後，我只能不斷搖頭：
在接下來面對的對手都還有進季後賽機會的情況下(紅襪，綠帽，長翅膀的，巡警)，
Bob Melvin說他會限制菜鳥們的上場時間。
這支隊伍應該要向未來看。誰管你面對的隊伍能不能打季後賽阿？Jeromy Reed和
Greg Dobbs應該在剩下的例行賽中天天上場。
還有，不要以為Bloomquist和Spiezio能打更好(你應該猜到我認為把Bloomquist擺在
一壘是整年下來我看過最白爛的事--一個SLG .314的一壘手)
當Jacobsen球季已經結束的這個時候，為啥不用Ibanez守一壘，Reed守中外野，Winn
回到左外野，Dobbs站三壘而讓Edger打DH？
不過Melvin是有看到這篇嗎XD
今天的Lineup幾乎就是如此(除了生涯對Wakefield .053的Edger沒打以外)
